OCR: Team Eeeek: The Dawning of An Age Page 44 1993 would prove to be a very good year, KR thought as she gazed out of the window of her private office. The boss had everything to look forward to: Bee's new software development, Debbie's bungling discovery and Carpenter's low-cost hardware systems would push Eeeek International into a new tax bracket before the end of the second quarter. Yes, sales were projected to be up forty percent, even in the repressed market, and possibilities for new software & hardware development were virtually endless into the foresee- able future. The boss was certain to amass another fortune in 1993. But something had turned the boss' attention away from the bright prospects of her near future and toward the darker shadows of her past. Maybe it was the weather. Contrary to popular myth, it had just finished raining in Southern California for the last week and the usually smogged-in skies were as clear, bright and sparkly as they were intended to be. Unlike the boss' melancholy mood. It was as if the open skies allowed her to see the dark clouds rolling in for a second week of storm.
